At Lindsay’s Textiles, we eat, sleep, and breathe fabrics, and have been since 2004 in Warminster, Wiltshire. Originally starting as Lindsay’s linens, Lindsay’s Textiles was founded by Julie Lindsay, who lovingly surrounded herself with all things fabrics and textiles, having previously worked in the industry for many years. Julie’s passion for the business enabled it to flourish and blossom and after five successful years, Lindsay’s Linens expanded into the available space next door, incorporating curtains and blinds, which would soon become our speciality.
After steady growth within the Warminster community, tragedy struck when dearly loved Julie passed away on 2014. With the strength and support from family and patrons, Julie’s husband John Lindsay decided to keep the business open in Julie’s memory, establishing Lindsay’s Linens as a firm fixture in Warminster’s Corn market. Deciding to solely focus on bespoke curtains, blinds, bedding and all-around drapery, John downsized the physical shop back to its original holdings.
2018 saw Lindsay’s Linens become Lindsay’s Textiles, emphasising the main function of the business; curtains and blinds. Head of Workshop, Sue has been with Lindsay’s Textiles for over several years and has been a vital member of the business. Sue is an expert in her field and is involved with all areas of the business, from picking fabrics from suppliers to advising a customer on the best choice for their homes.
Her near photographic memory means that Sue can quickly recall the perfect colour/pattern/texture for customers and loves seeing the results. Evelyn is a highly valued member of the business and works hard to make sure that Lindsay’s Textiles is not just providing what’s best for the customers, but what is best for the business and team as a whole.
All of the alterations for curtains and blinds are made by hand in-house, which is evidenced in the high standard quality of the results. As well as custom curtains and blinds, we also offer traditional products that can be hard to find elsewhere, namely net curtains, antimacassars, non-standard sized bedding, valance sheets and much more.
We are extremely proud that with the help of our customers, we can support multiple charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity dear to us. People of Warminster and beyond come to Lindsay’s Textiles because we care. We care about the work that goes into creating superior bespoke curtains and blinds that last, and for our customers who we get to know.
From Julie’s modest aspiration of running a local haberdashery on her terms, to being the area’s largest independent curtain retailer, stocking over 100 designs of ready-made curtains and over 2,000 custom-made fabrics to choose from.
